Carried Away
This is a quick comparison of the new "evenflo natural fit baby carrier" to the well known and loved "ergo baby carrier".
Anyway, so after some research, I purchased the "evenflo natural fit baby carrier" (top picture) for $25 @ Walmart. I have actually seen them for under $20 at two other websites!
Here is my comparison:The evenflo is almost the exact same as the ergo in terms of design. The baby is meant to be worn in exactly the same way with both carriers. The evenflo has straps and buckles in all the same places as the ergo. The differences come in the "bells and whistles". The ergo carrier seems to be made with a higher quality, or more comfortable, material. The waist and shoulder straps are more cushy, or padded, in the ergo. The ergo has a pocket for small things and a pull-out hood for baby.
Conclusion:
If you can live without the extra cushion and accessories, the evenflo is essentially the same as the ergo for a fourth of the price! If you're on a budget, like me, then the evenflo is the better choice. If you are more worried about ensuring absolute comfort because you will be wearing it a lot, then the ergo is probably worth the investment.
Bottom Line:
I'm sure there's nothing quite like the "real thing"! BUT, if you can't or don't feel the need to invest in the ergo, the evenflo is a great choice for a comparable carrier. You could buy evenflo carriers for quadruplets at the price of one ergo, and still carry in the same ergonomic way with adequate comfort!
